I have the honour to addresé

your

Lordship on the Bubzies of an Ardinance passed the Legistative Council of this Colony on the trifth instant intituled "On Ordinance for practitioners in Sur - I being one of the Attornie's Solicitors Proctors

and Notaries affected thereby. I have been requested by the Hongting Lam Society, Composed of all the Attornies and

Solicitors in the

Colony, to address your Lordship on their behalf, but

your Lordship will see by the Gazette containing

as

inasmuch. the above Ordinance,

that an attempt has been made to throw a doubt upon any authority to represent the Hongtrong Saw Society, notwiths

notwithstanding the Government here possesses full evidence of my Commission, I shall take the liberty of representing myself only, and your Lordships may fully rely. the accuracy of my Statements..

First - I protest against the Ordinance being unconstitutional, unjust, unequal in the operation,

unnecessary.
